A “second chance” apartment is a community that’s open to renting to people with credit challenges, past evictions, broken leases, or background issues. Each property sets its own approval criteria.

Examples include:
Some accept broken leases over 3 years old, others may allow one eviction if it’s paid off or under a certain amount owed, and some properties allow low credit scores or first-time renters.
